Columbia College

Several students from this area were named to the fall 2017 dean's list at Columbia (Mo.) College, with grade-point averages of 3.5 or better. University of North Carolina Asheville

Morgan Gallegos of Rogers was named to the fall 2017 dean's list at the University of North Carolina Asheville, with a grade-point average of 3.5 to 3.99.

Missouri Southern State University

Several local students are 2017 graduates of Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia. They include Haley Blackwell of Bella Vista, with a master of arts in teaching; Jonathon Irvin of Fort Smith, master of education; Srija Katepalli of Bentoville, master of science in computer and information science; Ryan Moore of Fayetteville, master of science in computer and information science; Joseph Warren of Rogers, master of arts in teaching; Megan Whitson of Fort Smith, master of education in library media.

Maryville University

Vanessa Sickles of Fort Smith and Danielle Ellington of Rogers were named to the fall 2017 deans' list at Maryville University in St. Louis, with grade-point averages of 3.5 or higher.

LeTourneau University

Local students were named to the fall 2017 honor rolls at LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas. Abigail Johnson of Barling was named to the president's list, with a 4.0 grade-point average. Cameron Naas of Green Forest was named to the dean's list, with a grade-point average of 3.50 or better.

Drury University

Several local students were named to the fall 2017 dean's list at Drury University in Springfield, Mo., with grade-point averages of 3.6 or better. The students include Donna Bickerton and Austin Hart, both of Springdale; Josue Bolanos, Benjamin Niemeyer and Kylee Shields, all of Bentonville; Bentley Mara and Maggie Scroggie, both of Harrison; Stevie Fulton of Paris; Everett Watson of Pea Ridge; and Savannah McCauley of Rogers.

Rockhurst University

Local students were named to the fall 2017 dean's list at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Mo., with grade-point averages of 3.5 or higher. They include Jillian Myers of Cedarville, Lauren Krissman of Clarksville, Scott Schaeffer of Rogers, Kaylynn Bates and Robert LaMendola, both of Springdale.

MidAmerica Nazarene University

McKenna Bearden of Decatur was named to the fall 2017 president's list at MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Kan., with a grade-point average of 4.0.

Troy University

Aaron Jones of Bentonville has been named to the fall 2017 provost's list at Troy (Ala.) University, with a grade-point average of 3.65 or better.

University of Memphis

Brennon Lewis and Kristen Franks, both of Fayetteville, were named to the fall 2017 dean's list at the University of Memphis.

Harding University

Jessica Gall of Bella Vista was named to the fall 2017 dean's list for the College of Pharmacy at Harding University in Searcy, with a grade-point average of 3.8 or better.

Rogers State University

Several local students were named to the fall 2017 honor rolls at Rogers State University on Claremore, Okla. Students named to the president's list, earning grade-point averages of 4.0, include Lauren Schuldt of Fayetteville and Amber Henson of Fort Smith. Students named to the dean's list, with grade-point averages of 3.5 or higher, were Zachary Stanley of Fayetteville; Carlye Bohannan of Springdale; Erol Banuelos of Rogers; and Hannah Evans of Siloam Springs.

Henderson State University

A number of local students were named to the fall 2017 honor rolls at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia.

Students named to the dean's list earned grade-point averages of 4.0 include Darla Fishback of Bentonville; Jakob Johnston of Boles; Michael Meador of Charleston, graduate student; Courtney Witt of Clarksville, graduate; Moriah Knight of Clarksville; Reynolds Beckham of Dyer; Sarah Wright of Fayetteville; Jonathan Ward of Fort Smith, graduate; Abigail S. Reserve Officers' Training Corps

Michael Dotson was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Army during a ceremony held Jan. 4 at Faith United Methodist Church in Fort Smith. Dotson participated in the Reserve Officers' Training Corps while at Northside High School and University of Arkansas at Fort Smith. The history major and Fort Smith native will enter the Army's field artillery branch.

Maj. Jason Hogue administered the oath of office, and retired Lt. Col. Earl Massey, a former teacher of Dotson's, as well as his parents, Lorie and Richard Dotson, pinned on his bars. First Sgt. Seane Fry rendered the first salute. The Rev. Charles Armour, a pastor of the church, served as the guest speaker at the ceremony, and the Rev. Craig Clark gave the invocation prior to the ceremony.

Greenville University

Alexander Fink of Bella Vista and George Black of Rogers were named to the fall 2017 dean's list at Greenville (Ill.) University.

Baylor University

A number of local students were named to the fall 2017 dean's list at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, with grade-point average of 3.7 or higher. They include Benjamin Heil, Evelyn Jaggers and Jeremy Mueller, all of Fayetteville; Amanda Dillon and Kayla Garibaldi, both of Springdale; Ashley Alston of Tontitown; Chance Cole, Bethany Dickerson and Delaney Pollard, all of Bentonville; Callie G. Harmon and Cara Shipley, both of Fort Smith; Alexandra Moisson and Nicole Sussman, both of Rogers.

Iowa State University

Several local students have been named to the fall 2017 dean's list at Iowa State University in Ames, with grade-point averages of 3.5 or better. They include Dylan Soehner of Prairie Grove, John Lavey of Siloam Springs and Rodolfo Escamilla of Springdale.

Maryville College

Kara Tubb of Fayetteville was named to the fall 2017 dean's Maryville (Tenn.) College, with a grade-point average of 3.6.
