Springdale Fire Department battles two weekend fires, both deemed total losses

SPRINGDALE -- A home and commercial building appear to be total losses after two fires this weekend, the Fire Department reports.

There were no reported injuries in either fire.

Fire crews went to Ewalt Avenue and Hill Street about 1:30 a.m. this morning to find flames coming out of an unoccupied house, accoring to the department. Crews returned around 7:15 a.m. to put out hot spots left after the four-hour fight. The cause is not yet determined.

Crews worked a large commercial structure fire at 11:23 p.m. Friday night at 2675 W. Sunset Ave. They worked through the morning to get the fire under control, according to the department. The building appeared to be a total loss and the investigation is ongoing.
