SILOAM SPRINGS -- Siloam Springs overcame a mostly flat performance for three quarters with a solid fourth quarter Tuesday night against Clarksville.

Siloam Springs outscored Clarksville 27-13 in the fourth quarter to earn a 61-50 win in a battle of Panthers at Panther Activity Center.

"We challenged the kids," said Siloam Springs boys basketball coach Tim Stewart. "We thought they were kind of flat, had some frustrations early, and our kids down the stretch executed on both ends."

Clarksville led 37-34 going into the fourth quarter after sophomore Cameron Patterson drained a 3-pointer after crossing midcourt.

Siloam Springs (4-13, 2-1) got within one to start the fourth on a basket by Diego Flores and then took the lead on another Flores basket.

Clarksville (3-12, 1-2) responded with a run to get the lead back at 42-41 after a basket by Miquel Rivera inside, but Siloam Springs had an answer.

Evan Sauer's 3-pointer gave Siloam Springs the lead for good at 44-42 and the home-team Panthers built on that lead from there.

Siloam Springs would go on to hit 12 of 15 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter, including 10 fourth quarter points from Spencer Lashley, who led Siloam Springs with 17 points.

Murphy Perkins scored 12 points for Siloam Springs, while Jacob Wakefield had 11.

Trace Thomas led all scorers with 25 points for Clarksville, while Bob Hurley added eight points.

Clarksville 56, Siloam Springs 53 (OT)

Clarksville outscored Siloam Springs 7-4 in overtime to earn the 5A/6A District 1 win.

Maegan Payne's 3-pointer gave Clarksville (9-7, 1-2) the lead for good at 54-51. Siloam Springs cut the lead to 54-53 on a layup by Morgan Vaughn.

Siloam Springs fouled Alexie Tibbs with 24.1 seconds left and Tibbs hit two free throws to give Clarksville a 56-53 lead.

Siloam Springs burned two timeous and finally ran its final play, but Chloe Price's game-tying attempt from behind the 3-point line was off target.

Clarksville's 6-foot post tandem of sophmore Emmaline Rieder and junior K.K. Phillips combined to score 24 points, with Rieder leading with 16. Payne finished with 15 for Clarksville.

"I thought both sides made plays," said Clarksville coach Randy Talley. "I thought the key for us -- and we haven't done this much -- was playing our two post players at the same time. I thought they did well and we really hurt them down inside."

Vaughn led Siloam Springs with 26 points, while Price had 17.
