Swanky Smiles leases office
Swanky Smiles signed a 10-year lease for the 11,350-square-foot office building at 803 Quandt Ave., Springdale. The building is across the street from the Northwest Medical Center -- Springdale.
Swanky Smiles is an orthodontic Invisalign provider, which books appointments 12 hours a day, seven days a week and brings its services to clients via a mobile clinic. The Quandt Avenue location will serve as its corporate headquarters for the area.
Companies receive awards
Three area companies recently were honored with safety awards from the Arkansas Department of Labor, the Arkansas Insurance Department and the Arkansas Workers' Compensation Commission.
La-Z-Boy Inc. in Siloam Springs received a Seven Year Accumulative Safety Award. The factory's 352 employees accumulated seven years without a lost day due to a work-related injury or illness between Dec. 14, 2010 and Dec. 14, 2017. An award ceremony was held Jan. 11 at La-Z-Boy, 2601 N. Country Club Road.
Crafton Tull & Associates Inc., 901 N. 47th St. in Rogers, received a One Year Accumulative Safety Award. The company's 225 employees accumulated one year without a lost day due to a work-related injury or illness between July 24, 2015 and March 19, 2017.
Butterball LLC of Ozark received a One Million Man Hour Safety Award. The plant's 590 employees accumulated one million work hours without a lost day due to a work-related injury or illness between Dec. 18, 2016 and Oct. 29, 2017.
Springdale Chamber honors Holt
Tex Holt became the 50th honoree of the Springdale Civic Service Award at the 96th Springdale Chamber of Commerce annual meeting luncheon held Jan. 26.
Holt, a local insurance and real estate professional, is known for his volunteer service with the Rodeo of the Ozarks, veterans events and Kiwanis Kids Day Football. He serves on the Chamber's board of directors.
Chris Hawkins of United Bank was honored as the Chamber's Ambassador of the Year. The volunteer group serves as official representatives for business openings and special events. Hawkins attended 90 percent of the group's assignments and logged more than 100 hours of volunteer service.
Fayetteville firm launches software
WhyteSpyder recently launched SKU Ninja, an e-commerce software designed to help retailers and suppliers manage, monitor and publish content to improve and scale e-commerce sales.
SKU Ninja was developed by WhyteSpyder co-founders Alex Ahmad and Eric Howerton. Ahmad is a University of Arkansas graduate with a master's degree in computer science, and Howerton is an Arkansas State University graduate.
The software will enable retailers and suppliers to create custom reports for product detail page assessments on major e-commerce websites, helping users enhance opportunities in item page traffic, shopper conversions, and ongoing monitoring of item pages.
Sparks celebrates catheter lab
Sparks Health System celebrated the opening of a new cardiac catheterization lab at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Forth Smith on Jan. 29.
The laboratory is the fourth procedure room of its type at the hospital. The 1,600-square-foot expansion is located on the southeast corner of the hospital and connects to the existing cath and cardiology procedure areas.
Sparks is an accredited chest pain center by the American College of Cardiology. Nearly 5,000 procedures were performed in the cath labs at Sparks last year.
Rehab facilities opening
Lee Physical Therapy of Springdale and Van Buren has partnered with ApexNetwork Physical Therapy, an outpatient rehabilitation provider with more than 60 clinics nationwide. Both clinics now accept Medicare and most major commercial insurance.
Jon Lee, PT, CWCE, who has been providing outpatient orthopedic physical therapy in Northwest Arkansas for more than 20 years, will continue acting as owner and manager of both clinics.
The Springdale and Van Buren clinics will now offer services including physical therapy, sports rehabilitation, industrial rehabilitation and manual therapy specializing in workers compensation.
