Where I live: I live in the Heights neighborhood of Little Rock.

Occupation: I am a fundraising consultant. I own my firm, Martinez Belt Consulting. I work with local and statewide nonprofits and businesses, helping them to gain fundraising strategies and improve their missions.

My favorite space is: my corner chair in my living room. It is my first place to go in the morning to drink coffee and prepare for my day. It is the perfect spot to read the paper and watch the world go by. My street is busy with walkers, runners and cyclists. Most of them are neighbors and friends, so I can always run to the door and give a friend a shoutout. I just find it peaceful to be surrounded by people invested in our community. It is a beautiful spot to see the season change, kids wait for the school bus, or expectant moms become new moms with strollers. This is the corner in which I held my own sleeping babies while keeping an eye on things outside. The chair is decorated with a different pillow each holiday.

Why? It's a peek into my community. I can also get a sense of the weather and thoughts on what the day might hold.

If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: Make the windows even bigger.
