YASMINE HUMBERT

SCHOOL Fayetteville

CLASS Coleman is a senior. Humbert is a junior.

THE SCOOP Coleman and Humbert made all-state in Class 6A and won the Girls Overall doubles championship in North Little Rock by defeating Caroline Long and Brittany Matthews 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 in the finals. ... The girls beat the same Rogers doubles team 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 to win state. ... Coleman plans to play tennis in college, possibly at Erskine College in South Carolina, but she hasn't committed yet. ... Humbert won the Sportsmanship and Most Improved Player award in Arkansas this season. Humbert enjoys playing the piano, and she and Coleman attend the same church in Bentonville. The girls take online courses via Fayetteville Virtual Academy, part of a process that allows home-schooled athletes to play sports at public schools.

DID YOU KNOW? Coleman and Houston traveled to France together last summer and attended the Mourataglou Tennis Academy in Nice, France. It is the academy where Serena Williams plays, and they met other tennis players from all over the world.

QUOTABLE "We were really comfortable playing with each other, and I think it showed in the season we had," Coleman said. "We grew up hanging out together, even off the court, and we know each other's strengths and weaknesses."

QUOTABLE "I'm definitely going to miss playing with Grace," said Humbert, a junior who'll have another doubles partner next season. "Switching partners will be hard because Grace knows how to treat me on the court. Grace is more like 'Hey, just let it go,' when something goes wrong. But we've never really had issues with line judges."
