Mom ID’d in crash her sons survived

Police on Tuesday identified a mother found dead off an Arkansas highway hours after authorities found her 3-year-old son wandering nearby.

Ouachita County sheriff’s deputies found the body of Lisa N. Holliman, 25, on Monday near a 2001 Chevrolet Impala in a ravine off Arkansas 24 west of Camden.

Bill Sadler, a spokesman for the Arkansas State Police, said the agency was notified of the wreck shortly before 12:50 p.m. Monday.

Around 8 a.m. that day, deputies found the 3-year-old wandering on Arkansas 24 and took him to the Ouachita County jail.

Deputies returned to the area later and found Holli-man’s body near the car as well as a 1-year-old boy still fastened in a car seat inside the vehicle.

The car could not be seen from the highway and was in a ravine about 300 yards east of where the 3-year-old was found. It had been lying on its side for about two days when authorities found the site.

The 1-year-old child was awake and alert when he was removed from the vehicle and was transported to Ouachita County Medical Center for treatment.
