JUNCTION CITY — Junction City (13-0) will play in its first state championship game since 2014 after defeating Osceola (11-3).
The Dragons have won six state titles, all in Class 2A. But this year will be their first appearance in the Class 3A state championship game, where they’ll play Rivercrest on Friday at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.
Junction City led 30-7 in the second quarter, but Osceola cut the lead to 30-24 before halftime.
The Seminoles led 38-30 in the third quarter, but the Dragons scored the game’s final 14 points.
First-year Coach Steven Jones will coach in his first state championship game after taking over for David Carpenter in the offseason.
