A Rogers man was arrested Monday after a police investigation into allegations he sexually assaulted a co-worker at a Bentonville nursing home.

Bentonville police arrested Fred Nache Veloz, 57, of 12824 Scenic Drive in Rogers in connection with second-degree sexual assault on Monday.

A woman told police she and Veloz had worked together at Bradford House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 1202 S.E. 30th St. in Bentonville for about a year, according to a police affidavit for Veloz's arrest.

The woman told police Veloz had touched her inappropriately more than 60 times. She said some of the incidents happened in front of patients, according to a police news release.

The woman said Veloz had asked her to have sex with him at work in February and she refused, according to the affidavit.

During a Feb. 15 shift he came up behind her twice while she was occupied with residents, wrapping his arm around her and then touching her inappropriately, the woman told police. Veloz was suspended when she told administrators, the woman told police, but he had told her he would come to her house for sex prior to the sexual assault, according to the police affidavit.

Three female co-workers had similar complaints, the woman told police, according to the affidavit.

Administrators provided documents to police noting Veloz was disciplined twice in November 2015 and counseled in a separate incident, according to the affidavit.

Veloz was questioned by police on Feb. 26. He told police he was a "hugger" and quit his job when administrators suspended him and didn't tell him why, according to the affidavit.

Under police questioning he said he may have touched the woman on the buttocks briefly and said she had a “cute butt,” the affidavit stated.

Veloz was being held Tuesday in the Benton County Jail with no bond set.
