West Fork mayor resigns

by Staff Report | November 12, 2013 at 12:38 p.m. | Updated November 12, 2013 at 12:42 p.m.

Frances Hime resigned as mayor of West Fork this morning, according to a statement. Kristie Drymon, the city's treasurer, confirmed Hime's resignation.

"The reasons when stated, regardless of who gives the speech, always seem to lack sufficient substance; i.e. my family, health, new adventures, etc. However, no words are adequate when a decision of this nature is caused to be made," Hime said in a statement. "With all sincerity, I appreciate everyone who voted for me and who also shared a common vision for the future of West Fork."

In her resignation letter, Hime said she was donating the furniture in her office to the city, and that she would be out of state for a family member's memorial, but did not give a reason for her resignation.
