There are five or six rural districts and one charter school involved with this program, which is designed to help them with implementing the new Common Core State Standards.

Instead of having students memorize seldom-used words such as homonym or onomatopoeia, teachers can help develop in their students a more sophisticated vocabulary by teaching them words that offer more precision.
