High court reverses State vs. Cassell decision

The Arkansas Supreme Court on Thursday reversed a lower-court ruling that Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell could continue in office despite a decades-old misdemeanor conviction. The high court sends the case back to circuit court with instructions that it issue a ruling in line with Thursday's decision — that Cassell, a Republican, cannot legally continue in office.
