Richard Alan Schaeffer: A pig, pig man
I've always enjoyed listening to Rick on the radio, especially in the old days of the Monday afternoon 'Sports Talk' on KKEG. However, this article does have an error: Arkansas lost the 1989 Cotton Bowl game to UCLA, 17-3.

Newspaper joint venture kicks off Sunday
The fact that I am now being forced to receive a paper I don't want (Springdale News), while at the same time having a paper taken away from me that I've gotten for over 20 years (NWA Times) is what I disagree with most about this venture. Just because one lives in one city doesn't mean they shouldn't be able to subscribe to another town's paper. In this area the towns virtually overlap, and people work in different towns than the one they live in. This consolidation is a turn in the wrong direction, IMHO.
