‘Village Atheists’ Attack Mayors

And these rude folks don't even invite Jewish, Buddist, Hindu, or Wiccan clergy, among others, to participate. I believe that these folks also pray. Where has Southern courtesy gone?

Respect For Law Day Is Saturday

Hey, y'all...

This is intended as a day for kids (of all ages) to get up close to police men & women & see what they do to protect the great majority of us. We make it as interesting & demystifying as we can. Be there & just enjoy it. We have been doing this for many years.

District Judge Draws Reprimand

""Karren’s written sanction falls in the middle of the commission’s written sanction."

Exactly what does this sentence mean? The "sanction" looks more like an admonishment to me.

PUBLIC VIEWPOINT: Tea Party Runs Into Raging Liberal

So it appears that to you that he represents all "liberals" by spouting negativity just like Rush Limbaugh represents all Republicans. ( I know better) But this person didn't specifically call himself a "liberal" did he? Maybe he just didn't like tea??

"I strongly disagree with their sincere belief that they have a constitutional right to my money and yours." If you really believe this then you'd better build your own roads to drive your car on. You are saying that Gov't shouldn't supply needs that individuals can't possible handle...like public transportation? Get real...that is the basic reason for government existence which you also benefit from.

Petrino suspended following crash revelations

We certainly don't want double standards in NWA! Being that Razorback-mania is a religion in these parts then, like many evangelists in similar circumstances, he should repent & be forgiven. Since the relationship was heterosexual and of legal age, not to mention attractive, that might make forgiveness easier. Of course in Europe it wouldn't even be news except in the tabloids. But we are still a very young country.

Nonbelievers Spend Lives Lost, Confused

Poor Mr Kilgore. He sounds lost & confused. He is obviously a non-believer in the ability of our (God-given) intellect to know why we are doing things and to make good choices. And still lost in superstition and magic because he has missed the real message of Jesus which was NOT blind faith but caring for ourselves and others. That does not require any specific God to accomplish.

NACA Board Fires Executive Director

Gee, is it so hard to carry your own personal card? Might have saved a job & a salary that can well afford its own card. IMHO, poor policy by NACA from the beginning.

Device To Help Solve Computer Crimes

Gov't ripped off again. I have a unit that does this for <$100. It isn't high tech at all.

Leave Cursive Writing To The Past

Maybe we better cut music instruction even more as well. Doesn't matter that playing a musical instrument regularly is one of the best ways to keep your mind in good shape as you get older. Music players, especially ipods & car stereos, can make you deaf early while instruments are unlikely to. Advantages of technology?

PUBLIC VIEWPOINT: Please Don’t Cherry-Pick Bible Teachings

It also seems important to be clear about what part of the Bible you are using. Per Jesus, the Old Testament is obsolete yet you constantly hear preachers "cherry picking" it to make some point or other even when it conflicts with Jesus' prime commandment. Jesus' teachings were a paradigm shift in a positive direction so don't mix in the old with the new...that just spoils the new.
