Eddie Davis, chaplain for the Springdale Fire Department, was with the department for 23 years before retiring and becoming a pastor full-time at Rogers Free Will Baptist Church and the department’s chaplain. Chaplains wear crosses on their fire department badges. If a member of the service dies, most badges are banded in black. “Only the chaplain’s isn’t banded. The cross is never covered,” Davis said.
