William Piston, professor of history at Missouri State University, briefly describes the events of the Battle of Springfield to about 50 people Tuesday at the city’s Center Park Square during a ceremony commemorating the 150th anniversary of the battle. The city recently erected more than a dozen informational signs explaining significant occurrences during the battle. Video is available at nwaonline.com/videos.
