Devin Brewer, 6, right, and sister, Abby Brewer, 5, both of Fayetteville, color in holiday cards Saturday at the Fayetteville Public Library while participating in the Mail for Heroes effort sponsored by the American Red Cross. The national campaign collects cards and distributes them locally to area veterans nursing and medical facilities for the holiday season. The Red Cross will collect cards at the Springdale and Rogers libraries from 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 1 and 8 and distribute them to the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks hospital in Fayetteville on Dec. 11 and veterans nursing facilities Dec. 14 and 18.
