Sandy Baumhover, from left, Missy Baumhover, 10, and Rita Baumhover observe the Christmas decorations in the front entrance of the Peel Mansion on Monday after an awards ceremony honoring essays winners from the Peel Mansion’s School Days Essay Contest. Missy was one of four fourth-graders selected to receive an award for her essay. In September, the Peel Mansion hosted their annual School Days event where 722 fourth-graders learned about life as a pioneer and Arkansas history. After the event, students had the opportunity to enter the 10th annual School Days Essay Contest and compete for top honors and prizes.
