Mamie Louise Tadlock, 93, of Pea Ridge, passed away September 19 at Innisfree Nursing in Rogers. She was born Mamie Louise Wells November 3, 1924 in Tecumseh, Kansas to Edward D. Wells of New Albany, Indiana and Edyth Irene Marsh Wells of Chicago, Illinois. She was the fourth sibling of 11 children. She graduated from Meriden High School in Meriden, Kansas and attended business school in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a World War II bride and married Merle M. Tadlock January 24, 1943. Son James M. was born in March 1944. After the war the family moved to NW Missouri. She was employed with a cap manufacturing company as office manager and bookkeeper. Her daughter Jacqueline Sue Tadlock Blevins was born May 1949. In 1960 the family moved to St. Petersburg, Florida. She was employed with the Pinellas County School System. She was secretary to the director and a bookkeeper for various educational programs and was certified to teach and taught business education classes. She introduced the Word Processing System, a forerunner to computers to the adult education department. She was an active member of the County Secretaries Association. After the death of her son James in 1973 she continued working until 1979 when she and her husband retired and moved to Pea Ridge, Arkansas. She was a member of the Shady Grove Club and First Baptist Church in Pea Ridge. She was a homemaker, enjoyed gardening, flowers, arts and crafts, crotcheting, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Merle of 59 years; son, James; sisters, Julia Melvin, Dorothy Eisermann, Ruth Lukehart and Mary Rodecap; four brothers, Vernon Wells, Chuck Wells, Dewey Wells and James Wells. She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Sue Tadlock Blevins and husband, Douglas R. Blevins of Rogers; two brothers, Robert (Bob) Wells and wife Charlotte, John Wells and wife Verla all of Meriden, Kansas; a sister-in-law, Mary Wells of Centralia, Kansas; three grandchildren, Gina Blevins Grant and husband Kerry of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Douglas R Blevins, Jr. and wife Tonya of Harrison, Arkansas, Megan Blevins Thacker and husband Chris of Knoxville, Tennessee; five great-granddaughters, Makayla and Makinzie Stanphill, Malia, Lindi and Kelci Blevins and many nieces and nephews. Memorial service is set for 11 a.m. Monday, September 24 at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Pea Ridge with Pastor Al Fowler officiating. Visitation will start at 10 a.m. before the service on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in the VA National Cemetery in Fayetteville.
