Powell Dean Byers

Powell Dean Byers, age 84, passed away in Bentonville, Ark., on Sept. 13, 2018. He was born on Sept. 19, 1933 in Vaughn, Ark., to Olen Jay and Esta Gertrude (Gholson) Byers. He served in the US Army in Korea. He retired from Tyson Foods and Ron Blackwell Ford. He is preceded in death by both parents, his wife Beverly Sue (Mathis) Byers, sisters Veva Seville, LaRue Foster, Brothers Glen and Jack Byers. He is survived by his son Burt Byers of Rogers; daughters Dena & Rick Mayes of Bella Vista, Ark., Anne LaRue & Dwayne Phillips of Rogers, Ark.; brothers Roy & Betty Byers of Bella Vista, Ark., John and Patricia Byers of Bluehead City, Ariz.; sisters Clara Houston of Las Vegas, Nev., LaVon & Don Hauser of Palm Springs, Calif., Sue Ellen & Tom Lee of Praire Grove, Ark.; grandchildren Jessieca Davenport, La Randa Phillips, Peter Pulvirenti, Alyson Johnson; and a great-grandchild, Emma Davenport. Visitation will be Sept. 17, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. at Callison Lough Funeral Home of Bentonville. Funeral Service will be held Sept. 18, 2018 at 10 a.m. in Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Gravette, Ark. Burial will follow at Coffelt Cemetery in Vaughn, Ark.
