Robert E Dilatush Jr., 88, a resident of Farmington, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2018 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. He was born December 8, 1929 in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of Robert E. and Eda (Barry) Dilatush. Robert graduated from Hulbert-West Memphis High School in 1947 where he lettered in football. In 1952 he graduated from the University of Arkansas and went on to graduate from Southern Law School in 1961. He enlisted in the United States Army in November 1951, and served in the Counter Intelligence Corps in Washington D.C. until he was honorably discharged in 1954. Robert was a member of the West Memphis, Arkansas Junior Chamber of Commerce where he served as secretary and vice president and received the Distinguished Service Award. He was a member of the Greenwood, Mississippi Junior Chamber of Commerce serving as secretary, vice president and chairman of the annual Christmas parade with over 100 bands. He was active in various other activities including: board member for 25 years, president, actor and director of the Greenwood, Mississippi Little Theatre, president of the Mississippi Theatre Association, member of West Memphis, Arkansas Crittenden County Republican Central Committee, member of the Greenwood, Mississippi Leflore County Democratic Committee, chairman of Leflore County, Mississippi Industrial Board, chairman of Leflore County Economic Foundation, member of Greenwood, Mississippi Chamber of Commerce, Life + member of Arkansas Alumni Association serving six years on the Board of Directors, Razorback Foundation member since 1967, Lady Razorback Foundation member since 1995, season ticket holder for Razorback Football since 1967 and a season ticket holder for all Lady Razorback sports since 1995. Robert worked in Foundry Business with his father in Salem, Illinois from 1955-1957, a law clerk for JH Spears in West Memphis, Arkansas from 1958-1961 and retired as Vice President and Secretary of Staple Cotton Cooperative Association and Staple Cotton Discount Corporation in Greenwood, Mississippi in December 1994 after 33 years. He and his wife retired to Northwest Arkansas in 1995 to be closer to the Razorbacks. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Marc Henry Dilatush, two sisters, Virginia Louise Guynes, Joan Stanford Lakin. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Jane Claire Dilatush; two sons, John Robert Dilatush and wife Christi and their son, Tyler and his wife Shannon and Andrew L. Dilatush and wife Theresa and their children Emily and husband Josh, Andrew, Rachel, Abbey and Sarah; one great-grandson, Roland Ace and one sister, Cynthia Dilatush. The family will receive friends Friday, September 14, 2018, 6-8 p.m. at the Luginbuel Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 15th, 2018, at Main Street Baptist Church in Farmington, Arkansas. Burial will be in the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
