Virgil Lewis Miller, Sr.

Virgil Lewis Miller, Sr., 79 year old resident of Kansas, Oklahoma, died on September 8, 2018. He was born on October 2, 1938 in Cherry Valley, Arkansas, to Harry Miller and Lena Belle Jamerson Miller. Virgil graduated from Vandale High School and joined the United States Navy. He worked as a butcher and meat manager in Wynne, Arkansas for many years, and also as head electrician for Allen Canning Company in Siloam Springs, before retiring. Virgil married Jewell Denmon on August 31, 2001 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Kansas. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Brenda Miller; and two sisters, Vontilla Walls and Marcella Evans. He is survived by his wife, Jewell Miller; son, Lewis Miller; three daughters, Carlena Hudson and husband Steve, Morgan Barrett, and Jessica Barrett; four step daughters, Bridget Cox, Misty Loftin, Patricia Watts and husband Kevin, and Betty Eckart and husband Dib; step son, Mark Benton; 19 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; four brothers, Wayne Miller, Lester Miller, Sr., Troy Miller, and Donnie Miller all of Wynne, Arkansas; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, with Pastor Terry Wofford officiating. Burial will follow at Baptist Mission Cemetery in Westville, Oklahoma. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Wasson Funeral Home.
