Imogene Darlene Stanford

Imogene Darlene Rogers Stanford, 92, of Avoca passed away Friday, Aug. 31, 2018. Imogene was born June 23, 1926 in Osage County, Okla., and was the last surviving child of the late John Oparks Rogers and Belle Grizelle Johns Rogers. She was also preceded by her husband of nearly 20 years, Allen Leroy Stanford, her daughter-in-law, Susie Stanford, and a grandson, John Mark Stanford. Besides being a devoted wife and mother, she also dedicated her energies to her students and retired from her career as a teacher in the Rogers Public Schools in 1987. Imogene attended Brightwater Memorial United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and being involved with the Annual Bazaar. Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Roark (Joel) of New Mexico and son, Tim Stanford of Rogers; her grandchildren, Shannon James of Rogers, Jimmy Stanford (Tracie) of Oklahoma, Ryan Roark (Aimee) and Kendal Roark (Delbert Raney) all of New Mexico; eight great-grandchildren, extended family members, and many dear friends. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 11 and her Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018 all in the chapel of Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs. Memorials are suggested to benefit her great-grandchildren's college expenses in care of Shannon James, 13129 N Old Wire Road, Rogers, Ark. 72756.
