Edith Margaret Ehrmann of Fayetteville, passed away on September 3, 2018 at 83 years old. She was born on April 20, 1935 in Perry, Arkansas to Joseph and Nadine (Jackson) Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Willard Smith. Edith was an Arkansas native who moved to Arizona where she lived for over 20 years before returning home state. She went on to have a distinguished career with the Arkansas State Department of Education, leading the Displaced Homemaker programs and had a major role in creating and funding the Single Parent Scholarship. She is survived by her children Kelly Morgan and husband Phil of Tucson, Arizona, Bert Ehrmann and wife Terri Warholak of Tucson, Arizona, and Meredith Taylor and husband Todd of Springdale, Arkansas; her brother Wayne Smith of Bayfield, Colorado; sister Mary Rhoades and her husband Sam of Mt. Home, Arkansas; four grandchildren Jake Stark and his wife Laura, Ariel Morgan, Aaron Taylor, and Ethan Taylor; great grandchild Abigail Elizabeth Stark; and her chosen sister Ramona Gibbons. A memorial service will be held at Sequoyah United Methodist Church in Fayetteville on Friday, September 7, at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Mesa, Arizona at a later date.
