Jane Ann Hamilton, 69, of Elm Springs, died Saturday, September 1, 2018. She was born September 22, 1948 in Lawrence, Massachusetts to Frank and Ann (Salafia) Sampugnaro. Jane worked for Naval Intelligence at Commander Naval Air Pacific for 7 years as a young woman. On August 4, 1973 she married the love of her life, Leon B. "Lee" Hamilton, Jr. in San Diego. Together they would follow his Naval career living throughout the states and Iceland. In later years Jane worked in schools as both a nurse and special education teacher. Above all she was devoted to her family, enjoyed cooking, time at the ocean and loving on her grandchildren. In addition to her husband she is survived by two daughters, Gina Marie (Hamilton) Hafemann and husband Garrett of Cave Springs, Kari Ann (Hamilton) Fitch and husband Jeff of Fayetteville; a brother, Jim Sampugnaro of Santee, California; and five grandchildren, Kaileigh Shay (Hamilton) Deanda and husband Gray, Gracen Elaine Hafemann, Gavin James Hafemann, Ledger Bollie Fitch and Lively Harmon Fitch. She was preceded in death by her son, Leon Bollie Hamilton, III, and two sisters, Shirley O'Brien and Carolyn Cargile. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 12 noon Wednesday, September 5, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, online obituary at www.heritageofnwa.com.
