John Starkey

John Starkey, 88, of Fayetteville passed away Friday, May 11, 2018 in Fayetteville. He was born February 14, 1930 in Jacksonville, Ark., to Charles and Theodosia Corder Starkey. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Lenny; a daughter, Cylinda; 3 brothers; and 3 sisters. John was a veteran of the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy. He was a 32nd degree mason; a member of the Sheriff's Association; a bivocational minister; and he enjoyed doing missionary work. He is survived by his wife, Helen Kreulen Starkey of the home; a son, David Starkey of Fayetteville; a daughter, Jean Irwin and husband, Jeff of Forsyth, Mo.; a stepson, John Carlon of Montana; two stepdaughters, Margaret Blistain and husband, George of Illinois and Maureen Holder of St. Petersburg, Fla.; several nieces; one nephew; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Beard's Funeral Chapel with Michael Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
