Carl Herbert Lamp, 92, of Bentonville, Arkansas passed away, March 16, 2018 at Innisfree Nursing & Rehab in Rogers, Arkansas. He was born September 24, 1925 in the family home in rural Pleasants County, West Virginia to Herbert Clayton Lamp and Vesta Lea Wilson Lamp. He graduated from Saint Mary's High School in 1942 and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He married Evelyn Anne Perdew in 1947. Carl retired from The National Cash Register Company (NCR) after 40 years, during which he worked in nearly every bank and retail business in four counties of Southeastern Ohio. In retirement, Carl and Evelyn worked with a group called Sojourners, traveling all around the country, giving assistance to churches, Bible camps and Christian Schools. After ten years, they retired a second time, moving to Bentonville, Arkansas. Evelyn passed away after the two had been married for 55 years. In 2004, Carl married Judy Halford. They lived happily and continued serving in Bentonville for 12 years. Carl was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and served in numerous congregations as Deacon, Elder, leader, Bible study teacher, personal evangelist and mentor. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Evelyn (2003); wife, Judy (2017); son, Danny (2012); great grandson, Braeden Lewis Lamp; one brother, Kenneth (2017) and an infant sister, Alice Lenore Lamp. Carl is survived by five children, David Randall Lamp and wife, Beverly of Bentonville, Terrance Stephen Lamp and wife, Jill of Zanesville, Ohio, Debra Ann Murray of Winchester, Va., Laura Leigh King and husband, Bill of Georgetown, Ky., Richard Alan Lamp and wife, Betty of Bentonville; daughter-in-law, Shirley Lamp of Bentonville; one brother, Jim Lamp of Newport, Ohio; eighteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6:00PM until 8:00PM, Monday, March 19, 2018 at the Bentonville Church of Christ. Funeral services will be at 10:00AM, Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at the Bentonville Church of Christ with Minister Joshua Bundy officiating. Burial will follow at Bentonville Cemetery with full military honors. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services of Rogers.
