Thelma "Loree" Boyd

Thelma "Loree" Boyd went to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ, Wednesday March 7th, 2018. Loree was 90 years old. She was born in Fayetteville, AR on June 21, 1927. She married her husband, Thomas "Buddy" Boyd in 1947 at the Washington County Courthouse. She was married for 61 years before Buddy's passing in 2008. She spent a wonderful life raising her children and family which she loved so dearly. Some of Loree's accomplishments include being a leader for a local 4H club, working as an assistant manager at Swiss Jewelry Store for more than a decade, and her favorite, working at Fabric City. This fit her hobby as she was an avid craftswoman, doll maker/collector, and seamstress. She enjoyed having booths at local antique stores and having booths at craft fairs, alongside her husband's woodworking. Loree raised three children and had eight grandchildren, as well as, eight great-grandchildren. Loree was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Boyd; parents, Vernon Melvin and Ora Ethel Andre Garriott; brothers, Kenneth Lee Garriott, Jerry Dale Garriott; sister, Doris Shackelford Schmale; son, Marven Boyd; and great-grandson Coleton Magnuson. She was survived by her two daughters, Carol James and husband Fred, and Rhonda Pace and husband Brad; brothers, James Clifford Garriott, Billy Joe Garriott, Donald Wayne Garriott, James Douglas Garriott and wife Jane, Tommy Dean Garriott and wife Martha; sister, Maxine Anderson and husband Rick. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Melinda Safley and husband Joe, Shannon Boyd, Kesha Jenkins and husband Ryan, Crystal Magnuson and husband Josh, Matt Cluck and wife Ashley, Madison Cluck, Brayden Pace, Gaarriott Pace, as well as seven great-grandchildren. Services will be private and intimate amongst family members. She will be laid to rest with her husband Buddy at the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
