James Leroy McCabe, 74, of Fayetteville passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018. He was born September 11, 1943 in Scammon, Kan., to Ralph Leroy McCabe and Helen Letha Browning. He was a member of Crystal Hills Family Fellowship Church, enjoyed hobbies such as fishing, camping, and drawing. He also thoroughly enjoyed woodworking and making projects, and never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Leroy McCabe and Helen Letha Browning-McCabe; son, James Hoag; sister, Joyce McCabe and brother Joseph McCabe. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Judy McCabe; five sons, Dennis Hoag of Pittsburg, Kan., Trent McCabe and wife Cindy of Elkhart, Kan., Todd McCabe of Ulysses, Kan., William Hoag of Fayetteville, Ark., Bradley Hoag of Fayetteville, Ark.; four daughters, Brenda McDaniel of Fayetteville, Ark., Kristine Hatfield of Fayetteville, Ark., Judy Mason of Pittsburg, Kan. and Tina Hurt and husband Terry, of West Fork, Ark.; 26 grandchildren and several other family members and friends. A funeral service will be 11 a.m., Monday, July 23, 2018 at Crystal Hills Family Fellowship Church with Pastor Jasper Hankins officiating. A visitation will be 1 hour prior to service. Burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Madison County Funeral Service of Elkins.
