Raymond Daverl Day

Raymond Daverl Day, 62, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, January 20, 2018 at UAMS in Little Rock. He was born October 13, 1955 in Springdale to Tommie LuVerl and Dorotha Evalee (Thomas) Day. Raymond was an avid Razorback fan and worked games as an usher for a number of years. He loved meeting people, doing genealogical work, gospel music, and was devoted to his family and friends. Above all Raymond was strong in his faith in God and was a member of Freedom Free Will Baptist Church in Garfield. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 33 years, Gala (Cossey) Day; one daughter, Victoria "Tori" Smith and husband Jason and their son, Thomas; one sister, LaWanda Ash and husband Steve; one brother, Tim Day and wife Traci; and many other relatives and friends including Lexi, Diego, Ayden, Noah and Caleb. He was preceded in death by his mother and an infant sister, Patricia. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, at Fayetteville First Freewill Baptist Church. Interment will be at Combs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the UAMS Foundation, 4301 W.
