Luanne Marie Lindsey passed away on Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, in Bentonville, Ark. She was born on Nov. 7, 1935, in Kirksville, Mo., to Dr. C.G. Cohagan D.O., O.D., and Eva Landers Cohagan. Luanne is survived by her husband of 60 plus years, Richard Lindsey, her son Richard Curtis Lindsey, daughter Richelle Lindsey, grandsons Jubal Lindsey, Sam Lindsey, John Mattingly, granddaughter Christina Marie Lindsey, and great-grandson Elias Margon among countless other relatives. Luanne is preceded in death by her daughter Sherlyn Lindsey, brother Paul Cohagan, brother Donald Cohagan, and brother Jackie Cohagan. Luanne graduated from Joplin Missouri High School in 1953. By the end of high school, she had become an accomplished cellist, pianist, and Operatic singer. The fall of 1953 she attended the University of Missouri where she focused her studies on music. In summer of 1955, she met her future husband. That fall semester she transferred to Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kan., and changed her major to Elementary Education. She graduated from Pittsburg State University in 1957 with a bachelor's in Elementary Education. She was married to Richard on April 21, 1957. Luanne will be remembered as a bright, shining light in the various communities and churches she served. The Lindsey family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Ashley Health and Rehabilitation in Rogers, Ark., for their attentiveness and loving care for the past four years. A celebration of life ceremony will be held Jan. 27, at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 307 W. Elm St., Rogers. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall.
