Henry L. Bowden

Henry L. Bowden, 84 of Springdale passed away Jan. 6, 2018. He was born July 30, 1933 in Decatur, Texas to the late Roscoe and Stella Bowden. Following graduation from Hope High School he served in the United States Army National Guard and completed studies at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Henry's career in Agricultural Education spanned more than 4 decades with the University of Arkansas, Department of Agriculture and, on two occasions, with the US Department of Agriculture in Egypt. He treasured experiences working alongside farmers and horticulturists from all corners of the globe. He was an ordained Deacon in the Baptist faith. For more than 56 years he was married to his devoted and loving wife, Betty Ward Bowden, who survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Pamela Moore (Steve) of West Fork; two sons, Michael Bowden (Jean) of Cave Springs and Todd Bowden (Elizabeth) of Springdale; four granddaughters, two grandsons-in-Iaw; two great-grandchildren; professional colleagues and dear friends. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale with Pastor Keith Lewis officiating. No visitation is planned.
