Melinda Charlene (Duke) Steinsiek, 53, died February 18, 2018, at her home in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Melinda was born September 17, 1964 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Faye Duke and Charles Duke. A graduate of Cabot High School and continued on to earn her nursing degree from the University of Arkansas. Melinda worked in the Critical Care Unit in Sparks Medical Center in Fort Smith, followed by 10 years in the operating room at Washington Regional Medical Center. Much of Melinda's work success came as she moved into an administration position with North Hills Surgery Center. As the Director, Melinda was recognized by both the business and medical community for her expertise and commitment of care she provided to patients and employees. In 2003, the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal honored Melinda as one of their "40 under 40", 40 individuals under the age of 40 nominated as best in class by their peers in all industries. She was later recognized as the Northwest Arkansas Business Woman of the Year though her work and commitment with the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce. She was also an avid supporter of the Children's House. Melinda was always willing to help anyone in need and active in her community; however, her pride and joy came from family, her children, but especially her new grandson. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Scott Steinsiek; her two children, Shea Steinsiek (Jeremy Gunn) and Seth Steinsiek (Nea Jones); one grandchild, Vedder Mac Steinsiek. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home, located on North Crossover Road in Fayetteville, with family and friends officiating. The family will welcome friends before the service beginning at 10:30 a.m. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the EOA Children's House, 2577 North Lowell Road, Springdale, Arkansas 72764.
