Steven Maher

Steven Patrick Maher was born on March 10, 1955, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He moved to Titusville, Florida at age 2, with his parents John and Paula Maher and his oldest brother John David. For the most part, Steve lived in Florida over the last 60 years. He graduated from Titusville High School in 1973, and completed a 4-year apprenticeship from 1972 to 1976 to become an electrician. Following in his father's footsteps, he worked with the Space Program at Cape Canaveral/Kennedy Space Center for the next several years. Steve moved to Bentonville, Arkansas to live with his mother in 2008, after his father passed away in 2007. Steve passed away on February 12th at the Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, as a result of an auto accident in January. Survived by his mother, Paula Brown Maher; sons, Steven Cody (Monica) and Nathan Jace; brothers, John David and Bob (Vicki), sister, Dena Mortensen (Gordy); nephews, Taylor John and Keaton Edward and great-niece, Acacia Rae. Also survived by several cousins and many close friends and colleagues from work. A short memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 17th at the Circle of Life Hospice Chapel in Bentonville at 2 p.m. Another service will be held in Oklahoma at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Rogers, Arkansas Humane Society, in honor of his beloved dog, Lucy. Arrangements by Epting Funeral Home Bentonville.
