Robert "Pat" Patrick McBride

Robert Patrick McBride, "Pat", passed away April 2, 2018 in Bella Vista, Arkansas after a brief illness. He was 70 years old. Born in Kansas City, Mo., in 1947, he was the son of Helen McBride and the late Robert E. McBride. He is survived by his mother; three brothers and two sisters-in-law: Michael and his wife, Janene; Timothy; and Dan and his wife, Nancy; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Pat graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1965 and attended the University of Missouri. He majored in English and was accepted into the school of journalism. A natural wordsmith, he loved reading, words and discussions about great literature. Pat was a US Army veteran who served in the Eighth Army in Korea from 1968 to 1969 as a mortarman in the infantry and was fond of the phrase "high angle hell". A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 5th at First United Methodist Church of Bella Vista, 20 Boyce Drive, Bella Vista, Arkansas. Rev. Jeanne Williams and Rev. Brenda Wideman will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Army and the Bella Vista Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Circle of Life Hospice or to the charity of your choice.
