Leona "Jo" Josephine(Leslie) McGregor, 90, of Rogers went home to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ on March 31, 2018. She was born September 22, 1927 in Springdale, Ark. to Gunter "Jim" and Alva Lee Eden Leslie. She was raised in Fordyce, Ark and graduated from Springdale High School, but not before meeting and marrying the love of her life, Buddy McGregor. After their marriage, she attended Fayetteville Business School which prepared her to run their local businesses. She enjoyed flying with Buddy in their privately owned airplanes so much so that she went on to get her own pilot's license. She served as president of the Rogers Woman's National Aeronautics association (W.N.A.A.) and was elected national first vice president. Throughout Jo's life, she co-owned and handled the daily operations of several businesses, establishing her as an important part of the Rogers community and history. With Buddy by her side, she helped run Sunbeam Dairy, Lakeside Roller Rink and Miniature Golf, and McGregor's Antiques. She was also a dedicated member of The Christian Center, now named Hope Church NWA in Bentonville. Jo was a talented seamstress and always had a special treat baked for her husband. Her favorite memories involved hostessing family holiday celebrations and taking trips from the beaches in Florida to the mountains in Canada. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Jean Pinkley Franklin; and her husband of 72 years, Ronald John "Buddy" McGregor. Jo is survived by her two daughters, Ronna Martfeld (Tom) of Bella Vista and Christa Johnson (Jim Lumley) of Bentonville; grandchildren, Brian Martfeld (Anne) of Springdale, Amy Martfeld of Rogers, Michael Johnson (Jordan) of El Dorado; and four great-grandchildren. Her family is extremely grateful to special friend and caregiver, Tamara "Tammy" Braggs, for all of her support, companionship, and loving care.
