On Sept. 14, 2017, surrounded by his family, Donnie Gene Cypert went to be with our heavenly father. He was born on Oct. 27, 1950 to Maggie and Perry Cypert. In 1970, Donnie enlisted into the National Guard out of Marshall, Ark. He served his country for four years and was ready to serve if the call ever came. He married the love of his life of 43 years, Connie Cypert (Trotter), on Feb. 15, 1974. Together they raised three children, Cassie, Amanda, and Perry. Donnie worked many years as a cabinet maker and later in his life he went to work for the Benton County Sheriff Department as a jailer. He was known as "Pops" and made many friends during his short time there. Donnie also served his community of Garfield as a volunteer firefighter for several years. He never thought twice to help a neighbor if they were needed, no matter what the need, and he would give his last dollar to help others. Donnie loved spending his free time in the great outdoors. Hunting, fishing, water skiing, camping and floating trips, all day four-wheeling trips with family and friends, and taking weekend or week-long trips with Connie and the kids, or just him and Connie. But the most important and the one thing that could being a smile to his face, no matter how bad he felt, was having his grand-babies at his house and time of the day. They were his world. Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Maggie and Perry Cypert; his mother- and father-in-law , LD Trotter and Loretta Edwards; his grandparents, Wayne and Annis House, Walter and Ida Cypert; one granddaughter, Whitney Marie Morgan; and one great-granddaughter, Kingsley Morgan. He is survived by his wife, Connie Cypert of the home; two daughters, Cassie Morgan of Garfield, Amanda Foster of the home; his son, Perry Cypert and wife Carol of Garfield; one brother, Eddie Cypert and wife Gale of Marshall; one sister, Janice Linn and husband Tom of Clinton; nine grandchildren, Andrew and girlfriend Tammy, Davin and wife Haley, Hayden, Savannah, Anna, Jacob, Colton, Miranda, and Mitchell. Five great-grandchildren, Erika, Rhylee, Olivia, Cash, Izayah; many nieces and nephews, and endless friends. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 18, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Collins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery in Garfield.
