Stephany Kay Lacy

Stephany Kay Lacy, 79, of Bella Vista, Ark. died Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Circle of Life Hospice Home in Bentonville, Ark. Born September 3, 1938 in Columbus, Stephany was the daughter of Robert and Doris Grisham. They preceded her in death. Stephany and Jay Lacy were united in marriage June 15, 1959 in Columbus. A graduate of Cherokee County Community High School with the class of 1956, Stephany attended Wichita University and Pittsburg State University. She completed her internship in medical technology at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. She obtained her license from the American Society of Clinical Pathologist. Stephany was a long time employee of Mt. Carmel Medical Center in Pittsburg. Proud of her work, she also worked in labs in Kansas City, Joplin, Mo. Baxter Springs and Bentonville, Ark. A member of the Presbyterian Church in Columbus, Stephany was an accomplished musician and loved her family. She enjoyed playing golf and bridge. She was a Kansas State sporting events fan. Stephany is survived by her husband of 59 years, Jay Lacy; daughter, Pamela Duley (Earl) of Carrollton, Texas and son, Benjamin Lacy (Amenda) of Bentonville, Ark. Her sister, Micki Ward, of Columbus along with five grandchildren Erin Shamlian (Jon) of Dallas, Texas, Jessica Duley of Denton, Texas, Sophia Lacy, Thomas Lacy and John Lacy all of Bentonville, Ark. and one great-grandson, Kyle Shamlian also survive. No services are planned at this time. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Circle of Life Hospice Home, 1201 Legacy Parkway, Bentonville, Ark. 72712 or to the Columbus Foundation.
