Harold Higgins, 85, of Springdale, died Sunday, October 1, 2017. He was born November 29, 1931 in Tulsa Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine (Gerri) Higgins of Springdale; one son, Howard Higgins and wife Lisa of Fayetteville; two daughters, Kathy Borchardt and husband Rex of Monticello, Rhonda Mallard and husband Phillip of Springdale; two granddaughters, (the loves of his life) Hannah Higgins of Fayetteville, and Alexandra Borchardt of Monticello; one brother, Gordon Higgins of Vilonia; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Otis and Catherine; two brothers, Victor and Jim; and one sister, Edna Clark. He was a veteran of the Korean War, where he was in the intelligence division. After he left the service he went to school in Memphis where he became an accountant, which he loved until he retired in 1998 from Cobb Vantress in Siloam Springs. Harold was a member of Heritage Fellowship Church where he was a deacon and Sunday School teacher and devout Christian. He loved boating and traveling with his wife and friends, but mostly spending time with his family. A memorial service will be held Friday, October 6 at 1:30 p.m. at Westfield Chapel funeral home in Springdale, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers the family asks for memorials to be sent to Heritage Fellowship Church, P.O. Box 8008, Springdale, Ark. 72766, or Circle of Life Hospice Home at 901 Jones Rd. in Springdale.
