John (Jack) Carl Taylor

John (Jack) Carl Taylor, 69, of Bella Vista, Arkansas died November 14, 2017 at the Veterans Home in Fayetteville. He was born on March 19, 1948 in Olean, New York to Donald Taylor and Beulah Phillips Taylor. Jack grew up in Lakeland, Florida. At 17 years old, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam receiving the Vietnam Service Medal with three Campaign Stars and three Overseas Service Bars. Jack enjoyed several careers including aircraft mechanic, woodworker, and most recent maintenance for Wal-Mart Store 100. He was an avid golfer and loved to fish. He was hard working, charming and never met a stranger. Preceded in death by his parents; his son, Aaron James Taylor and his mother-in-law, Phyllis Kettleman. Jack is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Taylor; son, John C. Taylor II and wife Jill; two daughters, Jennifer L. Goodin and husband, Adam, and Amy J. Davidson; and father-in-law, Muncie Kettleman. He was blessed with 18 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 18th, at 11 a.m. at the Forest Hills Church, an American Baptist Congregation, 1702 Forest Hills Blvd, Bella Vista, Arkansas. Graveside services will be at noon, Monday, November 20th at the Fayetteville National Cemetery for both Jack and his son, Aaron James Taylor. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arkansas State Veterans Home Family Council, 1179 N. College Avenue, Fayetteville, Arkansas 72702.
