Steven Neuse

Dr. Steven Neuse of Fayetteville, Ark. died on Friday, May 26, 2017. He was born Sept. 28, 1941, to Benno and Lula Mae Neuse in San Antonio, Texas. Steven is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jeanine Neuse. He is also survived by his brother, Jon Neuse; his son, Jonathan and wife D'Lana; his son, Micah and wife Kara; and three grandsons, Nathanael, Bryce and Jayce. Steven grew up in New Braunfels, Texas and attended the University of Texas, Austin, where he received his PhD in Political Science in 1976. He taught at the University of Texas, El Paso, and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, before arriving at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, in 1981, where he taught until his retirement in the early 2000's. Steven enjoyed a life-long love affair with books and stamp collecting. When not teaching or supporting his family's activities, he was most often found enjoying a spy novel or acquiring unique Latin America stamps. He served as a volunteer with the Fayetteville Public Library. A memorial service will be held in his honor on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, 2 p.m. at the Butterfield Trail Village Convocation Center in Fayetteville, Ark.
