Jennie (Wallin) Ourand, 93, of Springdale, Arkansas formerly of Fayetteville passed away Friday May 12, 2017. She was born January 27, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois to Carl and Dora (Roth) Wallin. She graduated from Parker High School (Chicago) in 1941 and attended The University of Illinois. She worked as a bookkeeper for Donnolly and Sons (Chicago), worked as secretary in Fayetteville for McClellan Engineers, Triple A Business Machines, Ozark Guidance Services and a professional aide at Fayetteville High School for the Math and Science Departments. She married Richard (Dick) Charles Ourand Sr. on January 31, 1948 in Chicago. She was a longtime member of First United Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville and sang in the choir for many years. She and her husband were very active volunteers in the community serving at the Walton Arts Center, VA Medical Center and had over 16,000 volunteer hours at Washington Regional Medical Center. They traveled extensively in the United States and around the world. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Cecilia, Josephine and Pearl. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Richard (Dick) Ourand Sr., two daughter, Janice Fritsch and her husband Rick of Lawton, Oklahoma, Nancy Schneider and her husband David of Fort Smith, Arkansas; two sons, Richard Ourand Jr. and his wife Donna of Indianopolis, Bill Ourand and his wife Marquetta of Yulee, Florida; six grandchildren, Will Ourand Jr. and his wife Katie, Rachel Ourand, Raymond Schneider, Jennie Delgado and her husband Sergio, Trey Ourand and his wife Jenny, Rebecca Herrig and her husband Chris; two great grandchildren, Jaxson Herrig and Claire Ourand. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
