Bonnie Jean Leonard jones, age 91 of Fayetteville, Ark., passed to her heavenly home on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Willard Walker Hospice House. She was born Jan. 21, 1926 in Webb City, Mo. She was preceded in death by husband of 63 years, Robert M. Jones; parents, Thomas Cleveland Leonard and Ruby Lee Anderson Leonard; brothers, Thomas Richard Leonard, Benjamin Lee Leonard and Henry Cleveland Leonard. She is survived by brother, William Robert Leonard of Columbia, Mo.; sister-in-law, Jo Leonard of Joplin, Mo.; nephew, Phil Jones (Lynn) of Little Rock; niece, Linda Osburn (Wade) of Fayetteville; grandnephew, Russ Jones of Atlanta; niece and special friend, Pearl Jones of Little Rock; nephew, Carey Leonard (Carol) of Loma Linda, Mo.; dearest friends and caregivers, Ann and Gary Cooper of Fayetteville; and many more nieces and nephews. Bonnie graduated from Webb City High School in 1944 and attended the University of Arkansas. She was employed by Campbell Soup Company in Fayetteville from 1948 to 1967. After relocating with her husband to Norman, Okla., she worked in the University of Oklahoma Provost Office from 1968 to her retirement in 1987. Bob and Bonnie returned to Fayetteville in 1996 and enjoyed retirement. Bonnie was an accomplished seamstress, quilter, artist, poet and cook. She was a favorite aunt to all her many nieces and nephews. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville and was active in UMW Circle 7 for many years. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Central United Methodist Church Wesley Chapel in Fayetteville, under the direction of Moore's Chapel with the Rev. Steve Pulliam officiating. Burial to follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Fayetteville. No visitation will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to United Methodist Women, Circle 7, Central United Methodist Church, 6 West Dickson, Fayetteville, Ark., 72701 or a favorite charity.
