Suzanne Hughes Brooks

Suzanne Hughes Brooks, 90, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, March 11, 2017. She was born December 4, 1926 in Gillham, Ark., the youngest of eight children, to Charlie and Maggie Hughes. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a hospice volunteer for 13 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Brooks and a son, William G. (Billy) Brooks. Survivors include a daughter, Katherine Brooks Browne of Fayetteville; a foster daughter, Carol Gamble of Fayetteville; a daughter-in-law, Ginger Brooks of Rogers; sons, Mike Brooks and wife, Donna of Broken Arrow, Okla., Peter Brooks and wife, Kelly of Fayetteville and Matthew Brooks and wife, Sunny of Anderson, Mo.; six granddaughters; one grandson; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many loving friends. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2017 at Beard's Chapel. The family requests memorials or donations be made to the Willard Walker Hospice Home, 325 E.
