Jo Ann Nees

Jo Ann Nees of Gravette passed away on March 11, 2017. She was born on Dec. 19, 1930 in Southwest City, Mo. She was the wife of Howard "Bud" Nees for 29 years until his death. Jo Ann will be remembered as a diligent worker. She worked at Duffield's for many years. Last year, at age 85, she retired from her job as a clerk and receptionist at the Gravette Clinic, where she'd worked for 30 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gravette, where she taught toddlers in Sunday School and the nursery. For over 50 years, she was also a member of The Order of the Eastern Star. Jo Ann is survived by her children, Darla Evans and husband James, and Dale Nees, all of Gravette; brother, Bill Jones of Blythe, Calif.; sister-in-law, Norma Crotser; and niece, Lynn Crotser. A visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church of Gravette from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, March 13. Her memorial service will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, also at the church, officiated by Pastor Glynn Bertrand. Her honorary pallbearers will be Dr. David Tucker, Dr. Mark Poemoceah, Dodie Evans, Devin Taylor, David Bailey, and Ken Austin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Youth Program. Arrangements are by Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Bentonville.
