Audrey McKee Moore

Audrey Louise McKee Moore, 96, was called to her heavenly home on March 8, 2017, in Fayetteville, Ark. Audrey was born Feb. 1, 1921, to Harry M. and Beulah Lehr McKee in Fitzhugh, Okla. She married E. L. Moore on Aug. 30, 1941, and spent most of her life in the Fitzhugh and Ada, Okla., area, before moving to Fayetteville in 2008. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ada and then First Baptist Church of Fayetteville. During her childhood and youth, she was active in the First Baptist Church of Fitzhugh, the church her father was instrumental in founding. In 1990 Audrey compiled Fitzhugh Memories, a book that was filled with pictures and remembrances of families that lived in Fitzhugh. Audrey had a love of her God, her family, her friends, cooking, and flowers. She will be remembered for: the beautiful draperies she made for many of the homes in Ada; taking food to those in need and also to friends, particularly candy at Christmas; sharing her recipes; her creations through sewing, ceramics, and especially her beautiful quilts; her love of family vacations and camping trips; touching lives, particularly those of the junior high girls she taught in Sunday School; being the best ever Mother to her children and the best ever "Nene" to her grandchildren; and most of all for her sweet spirit. She was preceded in death by a sister Ruth, who died in childhood, her parents Harry and Beulah McKee, her brother Vic McKee and his wife Annie Mae, and her husband E. L. She is survived by a daughter Janis Blevins and husband Don of Oklahoma City, a son Dennis Moore and wife Trude of Fayetteville, Ark., grandchildren Sarah Curry and husband Patrick, Justin Moore and wife Sarah, all of Fayetteville, Ark., and Lori Zehnder and husband Jonathan, of Moore, Okla. She delighted in six great-grandchildren: Amelia, Collin, Andrew, and Benjamin Curry, and Madeline Audrey and Matthew Moore, all of Fayetteville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Building Fund of the First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 177, Fitzhugh, Okla. 74843, or Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, Ark. 72762. Graveside services will be Saturday, March 18 at 1 p.m. at Ada Memorial Park & Cemetery, Ada, Okla. The family will receive friends after the service in the atrium of the First Baptist Church, 521 South Broadway, Ada, Okla. To sign the online guest book please visit www.nelsonberna.com.
