Dolores ("Dell") Feliu McLaughlin O'Daniel

Dolores ("Dell") Feliu McLaughlin O'Daniel, 88, of Fayetteville, died June 8 after a long illness. Dell was born on February 20, 1929 to Carlos and Edna Feliu and grew up on Long Island in Garden City, New York. In 1950 she married William F. McLaughlin of Chicago and with him moved to Arkansas where they purchased the Diamond D ranch outside of Eureka Springs. In 1957 they moved to Fayetteville, where Dell became president of the Humane Society and was active in civic life. She married Michael K. O'Daniel in 1964 and relocated to Indiana, then Ohio, California, New Jersey and Massachusetts before returning to Fayetteville in 2004. Dell will be remembered for her love of animals, her style and warm sense of humor, and her talent for celebrating every season and occasion to the fullest. She is survived by her husband, Michael K. O'Daniel, her children Irene Castle McLaughlin and Patrick Kevin O'Daniel, her daughter-in-law, Catherine O'Daniel, grandsons, Ian and Finn, and her brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Ann Feliu and their children and grandchildren. There will be no public service; her family suggests that those who wish to honor her memory donate to an environmental or animal welfare organization of their choice.
