Cecil Grandvel Gibbs

Cecil Grandvel Gibbs, 70, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Willard Walker Hospice House. He was born July 9, 1946 in Harrison, Arkansas to Alvin and Lorena Gibbs. He grew up in Delmar, Green Forest and Springdale. He graduated in 1965 from Springdale High School. He married Scarlet Earlene Meredith on April 6, 1968. He worked at Baldwin Piano, Emerson Electric, Hackler Chevrolet, Easco Tools and he was a contract trapper for the Arkansas Game and Fish. He was an avid trapper, fisherman and all around outdoorsman. He enjoyed spending time with his only son, Loren Gibbs and telling stories to his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Scarlet Earlene Gibbs; his only son, Loren Gibbs and wife JaNetta; his granddog, Bishop and many friends and family. Visitation will be Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale. The funeral will be Friday, June 23, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. A private family burial service will follow at Gibbs Cemetery near Harrison.
