Katherine Elizabeth Nelson

Katherine Elizabeth Nelson, age 90 of Fayetteville passed away Friday July 28, 2017 in Fayetteville. She was born March 6, 1927 in Winooski, Vt., the daughter of Dominc and Florence Marie Goodrow Mauro. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband William G. Nelson; two brothers Dominc Mauro and Joseph Mauro; two sisters Grace Church and Mary Dudonis and one grandson James Paul Nelson Jr. She was of the Catholic faith and worked as a Registered Nurse. She is survived by her two sons, Gary Wayne Nelson and James Paul Nelson both of Fayetteville; a brother Richard Mauro of Klamath Falls, Ore.; three grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m., Monday July 31 at Moore's Chapel. Graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday Aug. 1 at the Fayetteville National Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
