Gilbert David Joyner, 97 of Bentonville passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born Dec. 3, 1919 in Madison County, Ark., to Bob and Maggie Black Joyner. Gilbert was a Farmer. He served Honorably in the United States Army Air Corps. He was a member of the Lakeview Baptist Church in Cave Springs, where he was a Deacon. He was also a member of the Gideons. He loved fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his wife, Blythe Cecil Ray Joyner, his parents, Bob and Maggie Joyner, one daughter, Sharon Joyner Cornett, one brother, Robert Joyner and two sisters, Laura Lynch and Georgie Archer. Survivors include one son, David Joyner and wife Marla of Bentonville; one daughter, Nina Stone of Bentonville; one brother, Harry Joyner of Springdale; eight grandchildren, Randy Cornett, Kim Potts, Lynette Stone, Michelle Jordan, BriJette French, David A. Joyner, Seth Joyner and Sarah Joyner and 13 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 10 a.m., at Lakeview Baptist Church with Pastor Johnny Harp and Pastor Pat Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7p.m., at Sisco Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideons International, P.O.
